First-time setup
Set timezone, currency, and the default warehouse before you connect a channel.
Timezone, currency, and the default warehouse apply to the whole merchant account. Set them before you connect a channel. Changing them later, after listings and orders exist, is painful β that is why they get their own page.
Set timezone, currency, and the default warehouse
Sign in to the merchant dashboard
Open the SellingIO merchant dashboard and sign in. Account settings live there, not on this site.
Set the timezone
Pick the timezone the shop actually runs in. Order timestamps and reports follow this value.
Set the currency
Pick the currency the canonical catalogue should use. Changing it after listings exist is painful.
Set the default warehouse
A warehouse is where a stock number lives. The default warehouse is the one new stock is assigned to unless you pick another. Getting this right now avoids remapping later, when a connected channel's locations are joined to warehouses.
The words warehouse, mapping, and stock number are defined in key concepts.
How to check it worked
In the merchant dashboard, timezone, currency, and the default warehouse show the values you chose. You have not connected a channel yet, or if you already did, those three values still match what the shop uses.
You already connected a channel
If a channel is already connected, changing timezone, currency, or the default warehouse can leave mappings and stock numbers out of line with the channel. Check the three values first. If they are wrong and listings already exist, use the contact form rather than editing them blindly.
A later change looks wrong
After a change, compare the dashboard values to the shop's real timezone, currency, and warehouse. If orders show the wrong time, or stock sits on a warehouse you did not mean to use, the mismatch started here β not in the channel connection itself.
