Install the Shopify app

Installing connects one Shopify store to your SellingIO account. It takes two parts: you install the app from the Shopify App Store, then you link that store to SellingIO from inside Shopify admin. The live shop is not overwritten.

If you have not checked the prerequisites, start at before you start.

Connect the store

1. Install SellingIO from the Shopify App Store

   Open SellingIO on the Shopify App Store and install it on your store. You can also start from the merchant dashboard: choose Shopify as the channel to connect, and the dashboard opens the App Store listing for you.

2. Approve the permissions

   Shopify shows the access the app needs. Review it and approve. The list and why each permission exists is on permissions. You must be the store owner or have app-management rights.

3. Click Link SellingIO account

   After you approve, the SellingIO app opens inside Shopify admin and shows Connect this store to SellingIO. Click Link SellingIO account. A new tab opens on the merchant dashboard.

4. Confirm the link in SellingIO

   In the new tab, sign in if you are not signed in already. The page names the store and the account you are signed in as. Click Link store. If the account shown is not the one you want, use Not you? Sign out and sign in with the right account first.

5. Go back to Shopify admin

   Return to the Shopify admin tab. The app page updates by itself and shows Connected to SellingIO. What happens next is a pull of live listings — first sync.

How to check it worked

Inside Shopify admin, the SellingIO app shows Connected to SellingIO with your account name. In the merchant dashboard, the Shopify store is listed under Connections. Listings on the live shop have not been rewritten.

Shopify refused the install

You need to be the store owner or have app-management rights. See before you start. If you did have those rights and the install still failed, use the contact form.

The link tab did not open

Your browser may have blocked the new tab. On the app page in Shopify admin, use the link in the Waiting for confirmation from SellingIO… banner to open the merchant dashboard yourself, then confirm there.

The link expired or was already used

A link works once and expires after 10 minutes. Go back to the SellingIO app in Shopify admin and click Link SellingIO account again to get a new one. If the app says there were too many attempts, wait a few minutes before trying again.

The dashboard says SellingIO is no longer installed

The app was removed from that store after the link was created. Install SellingIO from the Shopify App Store again, then link again.
