What the Shopify app asks for and why.
At install, SellingIO asks Shopify for the six permissions below. Identifiers are not translated. Each one maps to a sync job: pull listings, push products you choose, read and update stock, pull orders, and map warehouses to Shopify locations.
The same list is in the privacy policy.
What we ask for

write_products | Push products from the canonical catalogue to Shopify. |
read_inventory | Read stock numbers on Shopify. |
write_inventory | Update stock numbers on Shopify. |
read_orders | Pull orders so you can manage them in SellingIO: the buyer's phone, the order note, and the recipient's name, phone and shipping address. We do not request the buyer's email address, name or customer ID. |
read_locations | Read Shopify locations so warehouses can be mapped. |
How to check it worked
The grant screen you approved listed these six scopes. You can match each identifier to the purpose in the table.
A permission looks unfamiliar
These six are the only scopes the app requests. If Shopify shows a different set, stop and use the contact form rather than granting something this page does not list.
